A New Way To Use A Recording Studio

What’s New?

We are very excited to launch a new recording service here at Carbon Studios in Birmingham.

We have stripped back the normal barriers of the recording studio to make it a more accessible, flexible and creative environment. You no longer have to choose a recording studio based on price or any other narrow objectives.

You choose Carbon Studios in Birmingham and then a whole rack of choice and options open up for you.  Fine tune your requirements to exactly how you want to craft your project from budget, getting an engineer that suits your style best, DIY engineering/producing to quality etc.

How?

In the “old days” when you wanted to get a CD or demo recording done at a professional recording studio (we will talk about home studios in a bit),  you would probably choose your studio on price, recommendation or, if you have used them before and the results were good (and because you didn’t want to risk spending that years recording budget on trying another engineer/studios) you go back to who you have used before.

Most studios usually have a choice of one engineer (usually the owner of the studios) at best two (the trainee engineer on the days the main engineer wanted off or for bands he doesn’t want to record) which doesn’t give you a lot of choice, and the only choice is between the different recording studios.  You hire the whole recording studio with it’s engineer and only get the better hourly rates when you do more than xx hours. It’s just the way things are done, it’s not really a bad model, we even used to operate like this until one day, I banged my head and invented the flux capacitor thought there has to be a better way.

And the better way is: Break the whole service down into rentable rooms/modules (with or without an engineer),  not like the “old days”  just as a whole recording studio service complete with engineer, (although we still offer that, but better).
